LRR Hosts “Vacations Gone Wrong” Writing Contest

By admin in LRR

The Long River Review, the University of Connecticut’s nationally award-winning literature and arts journal, announces its 2011 “Vacations Gone Wrong” very short story contest, open to all residents of Connecticut.

The winning story, in addition to being published on the Long River Review website, will be publicly showcased at the 2011 Long River Review Release Party on April 28th.

“Vacations Gone Wrong” is this year’s theme, with participants encouraged to channel their worst vacation memories – be it from that hostel in Honolulu to that eighteen-hour delay at Laguardia – and create engaging, brief stories.

All submissions to the “Vacations Gone Wrong” very short story contest must not exceed 300 words in length, and must be e-mailed to thelongriverreview@gmail.com by Friday, March 21, with “Vacations Gone Wrong” in the subject line. Participants must include their name, story title, and all contact information including e-mail on a cover sheet in the submission. Submissions will be anonymously judged by a panel of Long River Review editors.
