Throwback Thursday

LRR, March 20, 2014February 8, 2025

This week is UConn’s Spring Break, which has given me the time to dig through boxes upon boxes of elementary and middle school paperwork that my mother is saving for reasons I can’t understand.

Between science projects on static electricity and map quizzes where I managed to label half of the fifty states, I found a series of haikus our sixth grade teacher had us write. At the bottom she wrote, “Nice Images!” which feels a lot like a lie. Enjoy (maybe):

Lemonade

Today we bought some

lemonade which tasted good

but kind of sour.

Snow

The ground is covered

with snow and it is very

cold out this winter

Dreamcatcher

My dreamcatcher is

not doing its job because

I had a bad dream

Sky

The clouds are very

white today and puffy and

all different shapes
