My Favorite Piece of Stationary

LRR, March 7, 2025May 7, 2025

Written by: Ella Raath

As an avid writer, and a consistent reader, I have my stationary preferences.  From planners, to journals, to pens and bookmarks, there really isn’t much I don’t have a strong opinion on.

My favorite piece of stationery is my planner. I use the Academic Planner sold by Papier, and I have bought the same model since my freshman year of college. Here are some of my favorite features:

  1. Spiral Bound: I love a spiral bound notebook! It makes it easier to write, and I don’t have to crease the spine of the journal if I wanted to fold it in-half.
  2. There are six pages at the beginning of the planner dedicated to writing out your semester long schedule, and another set of pages to write down all the assignments and deadlines you have.
  3. Every month, you have a “monthly overview.” It’s essentially a calendar in your planner, for you to make note of any important dates! Additionally, there is a space on the page to write down any goals and tasks.
  4. The “weekly overview” is my favorite part. For Monday-Friday, you have lots of space to write down whatever needs to be noted for that day. Saturday and Sunday are half the size of the weekday boxes. It has a spot for the week number of the semester, and a weekly mood scale, so you can always be tracking something!
  5. At the end of the planner, there are pages dedicated to reviewing your year through goals, assignments, and favorite memories!

This academic planner is my favorite way to keep me on track with all of my assignments. It’s fun to spend a little extra time filling out my calendar with things I get to either dread completing or look forward to doing!
